Fundación para el Fomento de la Innovación Industrial
In 1992 this Foundation began its journey. It did so after a long process of reconversion of the former Board of Industrial Laboratories of the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers of Madrid, founded in 1949, with the creation of the Electrical Verifications Laboratory, origin of the current LCOE.
The founding act of formal constitution takes place on November 2th of that year, which makes 1992 our first year, from an agreement was signed between the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Mr. Claudio Aranzadi, and the Rector of the UPM, Mr. Rafael Portaencasa, establishing the guidelines to be followed in the participation of both entities in the government and support of the Foundation.
The founding act of formal incorporation took place on 2 November of that year, making 1992 our first financial year.
These first years of life have provided endless experiences and a lot of work, to reach the current structure, with very high-level human and technical resources, which allow us to face future challenges with the same dynamism and enthusiasm shown in this first period.

High Voltage Technology Center
The F2I2 High Voltage Technology Center (CTAT) is configured as a support tool for industry and I+D+i in the electrotechnical field.
Its structure, staff and facilities, together with its experience, prestige, accreditations and national and international recognition make it an international reference in High Voltage and Metrology.
Low Voltage, EMC, Energy Efficiency and Photometry
For more than 70 years, the LCOE has been faithful to its creative spirit, which is none other than to provide testing, measurement and inspection services in the electrotechnical field, continuously updated and improved both in services and in the field of action, to reality. current industry and future challenges.

Homologation of Vehicles and Components
The LCOE is a Technical Service for Homologation of Vehicles and Components (STHV) appointed by the Spanish Homologation Authority (Ministry of Industry).
Within its scope of action, the LCOE carries out the necessary tests and inspections to obtain the corresponding homologation passwords (E9), for the type of vehicle, components, and individual homologation.
Also acting at the national level, LCOE acts as a Laboratory for Reforms of Vehicles and Cataloging of Historic Vehicles.
Automobile Certification Unit (UCA)
The Unidad de Certificación del Automóvil (UCA) The Automobile Certification Unit is the category C and D technical service designated by the Spanish Homologation Authority to carry out Initial Assessment and Production Conformity activities.
It has been carrying out this activity since 2007, auditing manufacturers in the automotive sector to comply with the compliance assurance requirements in the different framework regulations of the automotive sector.

Thermal Specialties
Consulting and Training
The training activities developed by the Foundation began in 1992. To date, the Foundation has been increasing and diversifying the areas of knowledge taught. Although all of them have had a face-to-face nature and throughout the national territory, in recent years the offer has been expanded with the distance modality, both with online courses and live broadcasts (“streaming”).

CITEF
The Center for Research in Railway Technologies (CITEF)
The Center for Research in Railway Technologies (CITEF) was created in 1997 within the Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Innovation (F2I2) for the purposes of research, innovation, experimentation, study and teaching in the area of railroad knowledge.
Among its services it offers:
- Training simulators
- Verification and validation of railway systems
- R&D in the railway systems environment
- Studies and developments
LABENAC / LACAINAC
LABENAC (Acoustic Testing Laboratory) was born at the beginning of the year 2000 to give an answer to the needs of the research group in Instrumentation and Applied Acoustics (I2A2), belonging to the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). LABENAC has been growing since then, serving both the research group and the external customer, providing a high quality technological service. LABENAC has today a highly qualified and experienced staff to deal with a wide variety of acoustic and vibration tests.
LACAINAC is a laboratory of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, which performs Calibration activities in the areas of Acoustics (Audiometers, Sound Level Meters, Acoustic Calibrators, Microphones, Octave and Fraction of Octave Filters, Noise Dosimeters, etc.) and DC and Low Frequency Electricity (PC-based electronic systems, Data Acquisition Cards, Dynamic Signal Analyzers, Multimeters, Signal Generators, Counters, etc.). LACAINAC also provides Legal Metrology services, acting at national level as an Authorized Metrological Verification Body and as a Metrological Control Body.
